Marie’s Journey : The story behind Arlet
Meet Marie
From rooted beginnings to a global path, Marie’s story naturally led to the creation of Arlet : a project shaped by nature, human connection, and the desire to create meaningful pauses.
Her Journey
Can you walk us through your life journey?
"I was born and raised in the Belgian Ardennes, in the small village of Bièvre. Surrounded by forests, craftsmanship, and strong family values, I grew up in an environment where authenticity, simplicity, and quality were part of everyday life.
From an early age, I felt drawn to movement, creativity, and discovery. My journey later took me beyond my roots, from the Ardennes to cities such as Seattle, New York, Dubai, Bali, and Brussels. Each place shaped my perspective, deepening my sensitivity to human connection and meaningful experiences.
A turning point came after a major health operation that forced me to slow down. During this time, I discovered practices such as yoga, meditation, breathwork, and holistic approaches to wellbeing. This experience reshaped my perspective : well-being was no longer optional, it became essential.
Today, I feel guided by a dual identity: deeply rooted in nature, yet open to the world. From this balance emerged the desire to create spaces where people can slow down, reconnect, and return to what truly matters."
Her Vocation
How do you define your vocation today?
"My vocation is to create intentional spaces where people can reconnect with themselves beyond their roles and responsibilities.
Through ARLET, I design immersive experiences rooted in nature, combining movement, breath, reflection, and nourishing moments. Each gathering is thoughtfully curated to create space for clarity, alignment, and meaningful connection.
My intention is simple: to create meaningful pauses : spaces where people can slow down, reconnect, and return to presence."
When did this vocation begin to take shape?
"My vocation is deeply rooted in my personal story. I grew up surrounded by strong women who shaped my sense of independence and resilience. My mother, passionate about yoga and alternative wellbeing approaches, introduced me early to nature, plants, and holistic practices.
This calling became clearer after my health journey, which invited me to slow down and reconnect with myself. Through this experience, I realized how essential it is to create space for pause and reflection.
As I looked around me, I recognized the same need in others : fast-paced lives, constant pressure, and little room to breathe. From this realization came the desire to create experiences that allow people to slow down, reconnect, and feel supported within a meaningful community."
How has your vocation evolved over time?
"Before creating ARLET, I worked in luxury hospitality and communication. These experiences shaped my understanding of refinement, service, and experience design.
Yet, within these fast-paced environments, I also felt a growing need for something more meaningful. This feeling led me to Bali, where I discovered retreats centered around transformation, presence, and reconnection.
In that moment, everything aligned. I had found a way to bring together my values, my experience, and my vision.
This journey naturally led to the creation of Arlet : a space designed to create intentional pauses and meaningful transformation."
